Mentorship

A mentor has already done the job.
A coach only asks questions.

Twenty-five years running businesses across the Arab world — then years studying why some leaders make the leap and others stall. When you sit across from that, you get judgment built from experience, not just structured questions.

Before you choose a mentor

Credentials are easy to claim. Twenty-five years of decisions with real consequences are not.

What most claim

  • A certification and a coaching framework
  • A master’s or MBA that, they say, makes them a mentor
  • A handful of years in a single role or one industry
  • Leadership theory — studied, not practised at scale
  • Advice that starts from zero in every session

Why Dr. Tamer Karam

  • 25 years running regional P&Ls for Microsoft, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, and Stanley Black & Decker across MENA and GCC
  • A PhD in Entrepreneurship & Strategy (Nottingham Trent University, UK), a Manchester MBA, and a master’s from AASTMT — the science of leadership, built on top of 25 years of living it
  • Board Advisor and entrepreneurship expert for family businesses and startups across the GCC, Levant and North Africa
  • Mentorship as a discipline — research-grounded and practice-tested; not a conversation held from the sidelines
  • 350+ professionals mentored across 15+ industries in 8+ countries — most return, month after month

Why mentorship

The difference between someone who has been there and someone who hasn’t is everything.

Coaching

Asks powerful questions to help you find your own answer.

A coach has not necessarily held the role you’re navigating. They use structured frameworks and facilitated reflection to help you surface what you already know. Valuable — but the coach has not been where you’re trying to go.

Mentorship — what this is

Brings experience that already exists on the other side of your problem.

I have run the teams, managed the politics, made the calls, navigated the boards, and built across the region. When you bring me a situation, I have been in a version of it. I don’t just ask what you think — I tell you what I would do and why.

Two ways to work with me directly

Private 1:1 — your situation, no one else in the room.

One session for a specific decision, or 90 days of continuous judgment through a high-stakes chapter. Both are private — just you and me.

Private · 1:1

Private Mentorship Session

One situation. One private hour. Clear judgment, straight talk, and a next step you can act on today.

$100/session  ·  60 minutes

For: anyone facing a specific career decision, any stage

  • Your situation only — private, no group, no shared recording
  • Submit context when booking — I read it before we start
  • Book one session or return whenever a decision requires an outside read — each session stands alone
  • No commitment beyond the session you book

Typical situations: a job offer you’re not sure about, a promotion conversation, a workplace conflict, a decision with a deadline you can’t afford to get wrong.

Turning Point — 90 Days

A new role. A new country. A conflict you can’t navigate alone. Direct, close-range guidance through the 90 days that decide what comes next.

$300/month  ·  4 × 60 min/month

For: a new role, a new country, or a conflict that needs resolving

  • 4 × 60-minute private sessions per month
  • WhatsApp access Sunday to Thursday — text, voice, or documents, one message daily, response within 24 hours
  • Each month builds on the last — context carries forward, nothing repeats
  • Monthly progress summary — a concise review of what’s shifted and what’s next
  • Executive presence and communication — strengthen your leadership style, influence, and confidence in high-stakes situations
  • Meeting preparation and role-play — rehearse important conversations, management meetings, negotiations, and interviews within your sessions
  • Stakeholder management and organizational politics — navigate reporting relationships, competing priorities, and complex workplace dynamics
  • CV review and rewrite — optimized to pass applicant tracking systems (ATS)
  • LinkedIn profile review — feedback on positioning and visibility
  • Career decisions — prepare for interviews, internal or external, and evaluate job offers, compensation, and career options when applicable
  • Professional document review — one per week, covering documents relevant to your agreed mentorship objectives
  • Strict confidentiality — for conflict situations, nothing about our work is visible to your employer

The 90-day arc — month by month

Month 1 — Stabilize and read the situation Whatever brought you here, the first weeks set the frame. In a new role or country, this is reading the room before it reads you. In a conflict, this is de-escalating and getting an honest picture of your real options — not the panic-driven ones.
Month 2 — Build your position Now we work the specifics: credibility and early wins in a new role, a working network in a new country, or a deliberate position — repair, negotiate, or prepare to leave — in a conflict. Your judgment is being read closely here, by others or by yourself.
Month 3 — Take control of the outcome You’re no longer reacting. In a new role or country, you’re directing your own agenda. In a conflict, you’re closing it on your terms — staying with the relationship repaired, moving on your timeline, or walking in with an offer already secured.

What this is and what it isn’t

Mentorship is for you. The other services are for your company.

This is mentorship

Your career, your leadership, your decisions

The focus is you — how you operate, how you grow, how you navigate the people and organisation around you. The outcome is personal development that travels with you, not the company you happen to work for today.

Not this — see Advisory

Company-level problems

Strategy, market entry, restructuring, feasibility — if the problem belongs to the organisation rather than to you as a professional, it goes to Advisory. Business owners and founders with company-level questions should start there.

Not this — see Training

Upskilling a team

If you want to develop your team’s capabilities — workshops, learning programmes, structured group skill-building — that’s Training. Mentorship is a private relationship with one person, not a group programme.

Common questions

Everything you need to decide.

How is Turning Point different from booking Private Mentorship Sessions?
Standalone sessions each start from zero — you re-explain your situation, your constraints, and your context every single time. Turning Point carries all of that forward across three months. I already know what you decided last month, what happened after, and where you’re heading next. Add daily WhatsApp access Sunday to Thursday — and it’s a structurally different kind of support. Sessions give you answers. Turning Point gives you continuous judgment across the three months that set your trajectory.
When is Turning Point right — and when isn’t it?
It works best when the stakes are high and the window is narrow: a new role, a promotion that needs to land immediately, a move to a new country where business culture is non-negotiable, or a conflict with your manager or organization that cannot drift any longer. The first 90 days determine whether you come out ahead or spend the rest of the year recovering. If your situation is more general or you’re not yet in that window, a Private Mentorship Session is the lighter place to start. Turning Point is for when the chapter you’re in — entering or escaping — is too consequential to navigate alone.
Are sessions in Arabic or English?
Both. Private Mentorship Sessions and Turning Point run in whichever language is most natural for you — Arabic or English. The work is better when you’re thinking in your first language.
How do I start with Turning Point?
Booking is instant. Select your start month, include a brief note on your situation — the role, country, or conflict — and when it begins — that’s it. No lengthy intake, no back-and-forth. Turning Point has limited capacity by design, so the constraint is availability, not eligibility. Your context note arrives before session one so we begin with everything already in place.
How does booking work for the Private Mentorship Session and Turning Point?
Booking is instant for both. For the Private Mentorship Session, choose your date and time from the available calendar and your session is confirmed immediately — no back-and-forth, no waiting for a reply. For Turning Point, select your start month and the engagement begins from there — billed monthly, cancel anytime.

Start with a conversation.

Book a single session, or start 90 days of continuous judgment when the stakes are higher.
